Britt Tisdale Johnston
MA, MFA, LMHC
Britt Tisdale Johnston is a writer and Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Britt attended University of Florida for undergraduate degrees in Psychology and English. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Rollins College, as well as for the Abroad Writers Conference (Dublin).
For eighteen years Britt has provided professional counseling for teenagers, adults, and couples. In 2009, she opened her private practice Alive Studios to foster - through counseling, speaking, consulting, and her own creative work - the idea of living one's story to the full. She is a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs and the Florida Writers Association.
Britt enjoys researching, teaching, and leading groups about the creative process. Her own writing explores the intersection of psychology, literature and spirituality. She works in downtown Orlando, where she lives with her husband Bill and two children.
